Ichigo's POV ---> Rukia : Rukia is very kind and selfless

Pre SS Arc

The Death and the Strawberry chapters

Even though Ichigo owed his life and his his family's to Rukia,it still didn't made him accept her request to be helped with her shinigami duties...

instead,he gave her this answer....

Ichigo : I ain't fighting monsters like that for total strangers!I'm not that nice of a person.

do you know what made him want to help her?

it was this...

Ichigo : I saved him because I wanted to save him!Is that wrong!?Are you any different!? (asking Rukia)
You sacrificed yourself to save me that time!!At that time, were you thinking about complicated stuffs like "this is my shinigami duty"!?That's not what sacrificing yourself is!!

In this scene,Ichigo doesn't think that Rukia saved him because she thought it was her duty, but because that is what she wanted to do,that's why he asked her..."are you any different"?(saving someone because they want to)

Ichigo : At the very least...I'm different!!...I haven't accepted any commitment...If things get bad...I might run away....since I'm not a good enough person to be able to sacrifice my life for total strangers...

When Ichigo said that he was different,he meant that he isn't going to accept such commitment because he is not as good of a person like Rukia who was able to sacrifice her life for total strangers. If he wanted to run away in case things get bad,he couldn't be stopped by an obligation (that's why he doesn't want to accept any commitment like her).Meaning,Ichigo thinks that Rukia is a very kind person for being able to do that.

Ichigo : ...but..unfortunately,I'm also not trash that can...live happily without paying back his debts!

Rukia asked him to help her because she was worried about the spirits that needs to be saved.Ichigo, after realizing how kind Rukia was to sacrifice her life for total strangers, and how dedicated she was with her shinigami duty, and she seemed so desperate....he knew that if he didn't accept her request of helping her,she might fight the hollows even without her powers.Rukia might die if she does that.Knowing that he is the reason why she lost her powers,he couldn't let her fight alone, hence he accepted the shinigami job...and their comradeship started.

It was Rukia's kindness and selflessness made Ichigo want to help her,his debt is just his reason for accepting it.From the start,Ichigo knew that he owed his life and his family's to Rukia, yet he refused to help her.Only after realizing how kind and dedicated she was with her shinigami duty made him want to help her.

The Parakeet chapters

Ichigo : Your power to fight hollows still has not returned, has it...?...so...don't...push yourself too hard...!

Even though Rukia doesn't have enough powers to fight hollows, she asked Ichigo to bring Karin home first, and she'll take care of the hollow by herself.Ichigo knew that she's going to risk her own life for their sake again.

Kon's chapters

Ichigo : Th...thanks for not throwing him away.

Ichigo just heard from Rukia that the SS has ordered to kill all the modsouls, which means that saving Kon is going against their law,yet Rukia saved him though she might get punished in the future.Rukia did that because Ichigo was sympathizing with Kon.

Broken Coda chapters

Kon : She didn't want something to happen to us!!That's why Rukia onee-sama left!!

Through Kon's help,Ichigo had realized that Rukia left their side in order to protect them from Soul Society.

Renji : It's over..you die...and Rukia gets her powers back. And Rukia...will be executed at the Soul Society.Anyway, you're pretty stupid.Rukia came out by herself so you wouldn't stop me...

This is the first time that Ichigo learned the consequences of what Rukia have done in order to help him.Rukia is going to be executed at the SS because of him.

Rukia : R-run Ichigo!!Hurry!!Get up and run away!!Ichigo!!

Though Rukia doesn't have enough power to stand against Renji, she still tried her best to help and save Ichigo from him and Byakuya.

Despite the fact that Rukia is going to die at the Soul Society because of helping him,she still protected him from Renji and Byakuya.

NOTE : Through these build ups,Ichigo could see Rukia in a very different light. She had sacrificed herself more than enough for Ichigo's safety and well being.Logically, these things can make Ichigo gets fond of Rukia, seeing how much she could care for him and the things that she could do for his sake.

...and the build ups continued...

SS Arc

Hanataro : She said that even though she'd only known you for two months...she has unbelievably high faith in you,Also...because of her, your life changed forever...and you suffered a lot of pain...so she can never make it up to you...

Ichigo have learned once more about how selfless Rukia was.How can she blame herself for bringing pain and suffering to Ichigo when all that she does is to help him which is the reason why she is going to be executed? She's going to die because of helping him,yet she is more worried about causing pain and suffering to him instead of blaming him for her impending death.

Ichigo : ...Idiot...those...are my lines..!! I won't let you die no matter what...Rukia!

This means that Ichigo also has unbelievably high faith in Rukia within those 2 months of being with her.Ichigo also thinks that he had caused pain and suffering to Rukia that made him want to protect her.

Ganju : It seems that...she is another weird shinigami...just like you...

Ichigo : Yes,she is weird. That's why I have to save her.

This statement shows how much Ichigo sees Rukia in a different level.Notice that they were talking about Rukia's selflessness for not blaming Ichigo for her impending death and blaming herself instead for causing him pain and suffering, though all she did was to help him. When they said that Rukia is weird,it means that they see her selflessness in a different level,as if they never met anyone like her before. She was different from everyone.

Rukia : I told you not to come...I told you...I forbade you to come...Now you're wounded everywhere..You dummy..!

Ichigo : So..then...you can get mad however you like later...after I defeat him! (Byakuya)

Ichigo knew that the reason why Rukia told him not to come and rescue her is because she was so worried about him, despite the fact that it was her who was going to die.He even saw her crying because of his injuries, the only times he had seen her crying.

NOTE : I don't think that Ichigo wouldn't be fond of the woman who used to be so tough and feisty crying while looking at him badly injured, scolding him for getting hurt because of her.Although,I can see someone telling me that it's just because she thought it was her fault that he got hurt,however...that isn't what Ichigo was thinking about the situation.Ichigo thinks that he is the reason why Rukia is going to die,she should be blaming him instead of worrying about his safety. To Ichigo,it was selflessness.

Rukia : You're still the same as before...ignoring everything I say...

Ichigo : Of course! You always nag and worry about me.You should worry more about yourself right now.

Those statement from Ichigo shows proofs that he knew that Rukia was always worried for his safety, that's why she always nag at him.She never think for her own safety.

...hence,he knew that Rukia was again, just worried for him here...

Rukia : Idiot!!Why did you come again!?You know that...you can't win against my brother! You'll really get killed this time!I've already made my peace with this,so...I don't need you to rescue me!!Go back!!

Rukia always kept on trying to avoid Ichigo to suffer even more,to be hurt even more, that's why she always try to stop him whenever she thinks he should. He's not invincible anyway,no one is invincible.

Arrancar/HM Arc

GJ : Did ya hear me?I asked which one of you two...is the stronger one?!

Rukia : This is bad.Ichigo!!get out of here!!...(then Rukia was caught off guard by GJ because of worrying for Ichigo, and she got stabbed)

Rukia knew that Ichigo was not in the right condition to fight, especially with someone as strong as GJ.Ichigo was tensed.Apparently,Rukia is going to take the fight against GJ even though she felt how strong he is...because Ichigo wouldn't be able to.

Those scenes are from the second time that the Arrancars attacked Karakura town.Rukia's life was again put at risk for saving Ichigo's life during the fight.

Rukia : Why did you enter HM on your own?!Why didn't you wait for me to return!?

Ichigo : ..But you left like that.I didn't know if you were gonna come back or...

Rukia : Of course I was going to come back!!By any means necessary.

Ichigo knew that Rukia wouldn't be able to come back and accompany him with his mission to rescue Orihime, given that Yamamoto has sent Byakuya and Kenpachi to make sure of it.Seeing her coming back for him shows how much she's willing to disobey the orders for him.

Rukia : Why...are you alone...?I thought you went up there to save Inoue...?

Ichigo : ...I did save her.She's up there right now,tending to Ishida's wounds.Safer than down here,right?

Even though Rukia was already struggling to survive the fight against Yammy, she's still more worried about Inoue's safety.Ichigo here was telling her that Inoue was in a better/safer place than her,she doesn't need to be worried about her anymore, she should be more worried about herself instead since she's the one who's fighting and risking her own life down there.

The Lost Agent Arc

Even until this Arc,KT kept on emphasizing how much Rukia is willing to sacrifice herself for Ichigo.

Author's note :

Notice that through out the entire story,in each arc...KT is always emphasizing that Rukia would always sacrifice herself for Ichigo.KT is always allowing Ichigo to witness her selflessness and care for him, which is one of the aspect that made Rukia become an important person to Ichigo.Apparently, these things are going to play an important role for the plot, hence KT was always putting emphasis in this aspect of the story.

Notes to my readers

Jan 30,2013

Sorry for not updating for so long,I'm just too busy and lazy lately.I've said this already,I am not an avid fan,so I just write whenever I felt like it.I am not supporting any of the pairings involved in this topic,so I am not doing any of this just to support a certain pairing.I'm just truly entertained to see how people can interpret the story differently.

I assure you (everyone) that I am going to finish what I have started.Only,it will take me some time ^.^' I have a life anyways.Plus,I do really like going in details so it will really take some effort. With this,I am so happy to see that there are some people who are patiently waiting for my updates...

and thanks for those who are following me...(maybe if I see a lot more,I might write faster,LOL).

Ichigo's hollwfication : The "her" pronoun

I thought that this is something that is absolutely irrelevant,I suppose its still good to put this argument here as well, after reading someone's comment here ^.^ (I am talking about the argument, concerning the famous "her" pronoun from Ichigo's words).

Yonderunda, kikoeru,which literally means...Calling, I can hear

 Tateyo,means...Stand up

tate, ore ga...means...Stand, I will

Ore ga,of course means...I will

Ore ga mamoru...means...I will protect...

How about here?

Again,I'll translate this for you...

keru....means....help,(the last part, because it was a broken word)...so it was supposed to be read as -elp, from the word HELP.

tasu...keru means,HELP,he's pronouncing it like he was having a difficulty,so it was pronounced as broken words.

ore ga,again...means I will,and tasukeru as HELP.

There.is. NO. pronoun. for. "her". None of the used words can be read with a pronoun with them. Not the word tasukeru neither the word mamoru.Besides, this sounds like Ichigo would not respond to the person who called his name,if it is not Orihime which is an obvious way of discrediting Ichigo's character as the one who loves to protect mountain loads of people.

Orihime's FLOL speech.

Orihime : ...and then, for those 5 times.I'd fall in love with the same person.

As much as I agree that this was indeed a romantic scene,I still couldn't understand how some people (mostly Ichihime's) used to think that this can be used as a proof of Ichihime pairing possibility.

here's what they used to say about this...

"And then I watched episode 141. The pairing is just really obvious in those scenes, you know? It was hard to ignore… and also not to cry. XD The almost kiss + love confession from Orihime really touched me and that day I decided I would support these two. Because it just felt like they were the ones who had to end up together eventually. We could say that that was when I started to like and truly notice IchiHime."

I wonder how did a pairing became really obvious here, not to mention that the confession didn't come from the lead female of the story (it has a huge factor). As far as I know,a pairing needs TWO people involved, right? However, what's in this scene was a confirmation/confession from ONE character and not TWO.

This scene never showed that the Ichihime relationship has evolved. This scene only showed Orihime's feelings but not Ichigo's.

This scene is just a proof that Orihime does love Ichigo romantically (because she said so),but not Ichigo and Orihime loves each other romantically. To put it bluntly, this doesn't show anything obvious about a pairing, but a character's feelings towards another character.

also,I couldn't help but to agree with what this certain people said in Ichiruki vs Ichihime thread.

spidergoth

"He's really clueless to her feelings which leads me to believe he doesn't take much time to try to understand her. Because for anyone who does it would be at least a little obvious how she feels for him. Ishida seems to have picked up her feelings for Ichigo, because he pays more mind to her than Ichigo does.Tatsuki seeems to know and she clearly cares for Orihime enough to pick up on it. You have to be utterly thick headed and really not understand Orihime (which Ichigo seems to fit the bill) to not know how obvious her feelings are."

Yaminotamashi

"All of her "basic" understandings of him is because she spends so much time observing him. If Ichigo doesn't even notice THIS, that she's always a little more shy, a little more awkward around him, it shows that he doesn't take the time to observe her at all. He's more or less indifferent towards her when it comes to that. I've seen some IH shippers claim that Ichigo DOES understand Orihime more than anyone, but this is completely false that I don't even...excuse
me, what? ISHIDA is the only male character so far who has demonstrated an understanding of Orihime's feelings."

http://forums.mangafox.com/threads/246520-IchiHime-Vs.-IchiRuki-Version-3-Read-Post-1/page135

If Ichigo does really have a romantic feelings for Orihime,he would be able to notice her true feelings for him, just like Ishida does.A person in love likes to observe their object of affection, just like what Orihime always does, that's why she was able to notice the changes in Ichigo's behavior.Orihime was actually being obvious to her feelings, and I found it awkward that Ichigo doesn't notice it.

In any case,I agree that KT put this scene in the manga for a reason. However, was it to hint that Ichihime is going to happen? That,I wouldn't say anything, but as far as my observation goes...

the purpose of this scene is...

-To be able to understand why Orihime is acting like the way she is before and after this chapter.

*Why is she fidgeting in front of Ichigo.
*Why does she always talks about Ichigo.
*Why is she daydreaming about him.
*Why is she blushing in front of him.
*Why does she wanted to accompany him at the SS,or wanted to protect him
*Why does she wanted to be stronger and protect Ichigo.
*Why is she jealous that Rukia was able to bring him back to normal.
*Why is she crying when having the thoughts of Ichigo becoming happy after seeing Rukia again.
*Why is she bothered by Rukia's huge importance to Ichigo
*Why is she crying when Ichigo was hurt.
*Why did she got scared of Ichigo's hollow form/mask?
*Why is she trying to look at her reflection from Ichigo's eyes.
*Why did she panicked after seeing Ichigo lying half-dead on the ground.
*Why did she cried after seeing Ichigo was crying, even though her memory was messed up

I can go on and on,but the main point I was trying to say here is...She acts like that because she loves Kurosaki kun romantically, and we were able to know it all because of this particular scene, right? In other words,it is to give a reason for Orihime's behavior in the story. At least that is just up until now,and there's still 10 more years to go.However,I believe that people should start wondering now,as to why KT is being so adamant not to show any hint that Ichigo might reciprocate Orihime's feelings for him, especially,if he's really hinting for Ichihime possibility.

The purpose of Orihime's cry for help

Most (if not all) of the readers (shippers or non shippers) used to think that Orihime's cry for help is the thing that triggered Ichigo's hollowfication at the Dome.Because of that kind of interpretations, some people used to think that...

these are the possible purpose of that particular scene...

-Orihime's cry for help is meant to trigger Ichigo's hollowfication.

-Some Ichihime shippers sees it as KT was hinting (if not proof) for their ship's possibility. They are implying that Ichigo is so responsive towards Orihime (exclusively?).

-Some Ichiruki's sees it as KT might be hinting that Orihime doesn't really love Ichigo like how she used to think.

However,as I have explained in my essay about "BLEACH Romance : Ichigo's Hollowfication at the Dome " Orihime's cry for help is not the thing that triggered Ichigo's hollowfication. In that case, why did KT drew Orihime crying for help towards the half dead Ichigo followed by Ichigo's hollowfication? What could be the purpose of that particular scene?

My Analysis

Aside from the fact that Ichigo's hollowfication happened right after Orihime's cry for help, some people uses this...

...as a proof of their assumptions that Orihime's cry for help was indeed the thing that triggers Ichigo's hollowfication. They are saying that Orihime admitted it herself.

However,is it really what she meant when she said that it was her fault? Some (if not all) used to think that she was referring to Ichigo's hollowfication.

...but this is how I have interpreted that particular scene...

Orihime : I trained so hard,so I wouldn't be a burden to him.I came here because I wanted to protect him.So why, when it came down to it.Why did I want him to save me?

Those are the words that she said after saying that it was her fault. What does she mean? What is her fault that she was talking about?Read [link] for more explanation about Orihime's mistake.

I'll try to explain it in a much simple way...

Why did she came there?..........................................to protect Ichigo.
What did she do when she came there?.....................she asked HELP towards Ichigo

Orihime had already realized that she made a mistake for not helping Ichigo, and allowing him to fight all by himself here...

Although, she realized her mistake for over estimating Ichigo's power/ability,there is still one thing that she haven't realized yet...until...

...she saw that Ichigo was suffering. He was struggling to take control of himself. After seeing that Ichigo was still trying to help her despite the fact that he had already reached his limit (he was lying half dead on the ground earlier),Orihime had finally realized how much she was over relying on him.How did she end up asking for help towards Ichigo, while he is obviously the one who needed it the most in that particular moment?Isn't her intention was to help/protect him? However, what she have done is to be the reason why he was hurting/suffering even more.In other words,I am pointing out that Orihime is referring to her causing pain and suffering to Ichigo, instead of protecting him.She is not referring to her cry for help as the trigger of Ichigo's hollowfication.Orihime is referring to her cry for help that made Ichigo pushing himself to stand up and help her, though he was already in pain.

In other words, that scene was meant for Orihime's character development. It is not meant to hint that Ichihime is going to be canon,or that Ichigo is very responsive towards Orihime (exclusively?).It is not meant to show that Orihime doesn't really love Ichigo either. It is just meant to show how much she was over relying and over estimating Ichigo's power/ability,to the point that he was already at his limit, yet she still thought that he's still the one who can help her.
